2026 LCK Finals: T1, Gen.G, and Hanwha Life Esports All Wary of Rivals at Media Day

According to a report by Inven Global, the three teams competing in the 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea Finals – T1, Gen.G Esports, and Hanwha Life Esports – gathered at CHZZK LoL Park in Jonggak for a pre-tournament media day. Each team sent their head coach and two players, and all of them openly named specific threats from their rivals. Gen.G head coach Yoo Sang-wook said T1 are difficult because of their high ability to create variables, while Hanwha Life Esports are dangerous due to their aggressive plays such as tower dives. Yoo picked top laner Zeus and T1's bot lane as his biggest concerns. Hanwha Life head coach Yoon Sung-young praised Gen.G's comeback ability and noted T1's recent emphasis on top-side pressure. T1 interim head coach Im Jae-hyeon said his team is watching Hanwha Life's early top-lane priority and snowball potential. He described Gen.G as a team with organic, seasoned macro play. During the media day, AD carries Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong, and Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan were asked to evaluate each other. Ruler and Gumayusi both praised Peyz's sharp teamfight instincts and raw mechanical ability. Peyz, in turn, said the two veterans possess vast data and an overwhelming sense of veteran experience. Ruler called Gumayusi a strong laner who reads the game well, while Gumayusi highlighted Ruler's consistency, damage angles, and game knowledge. Other notable players – Keria, Kanavi, and Kiin – also shared their views. Kiin said Kanavi's aggression at unexpected moments is hard to counter and praised Keria's teamfighting. Kanavi described Kiin as a versatile player who can handle any role, and Keria added that Kiin is tough because he can play carries as well as defensive picks. Hanwha Life Esports advanced to the finals by coming from behind to defeat T1 3-2, after trailing 1-2. Gen.G then beat Hanwha Life 3-1 in the upper bracket final, with Chovy's Vex earning special praise. Gen.G enters the final with a bracket advantage, while T1 must return through the lower bracket. All three teams seem well prepared, and the finals promise to be a fascinating tactical battle.
